Criteria for the Lt Joseph Mixter Public Affairs Officer of the Year Award Recipient MUST BE A WING PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER WHO: 1. Submits his/her Quarterly Reports in accordance with CAPR 190-1. Namely, 1st Quarter, April 30th; 2nd Quarter, July 31st; 3rd Quarter, October 31st; 4th Quarter, January 31st of each year. 2. Report to Region should contain backup material along with copies of local unit PAO reports to Wing which are not submitted to National Headquarters because there is not sufficient room in the file system to handle the volume of paperwork for more than 1700 units. 3. Each Wing PAO MUST have their own form for use by subordinate unit PAO's as CAPF 190-1 is ONLY to be used by Wing Public Affairs Officers. 4. Twice a year, per CAPR 190-1, the Wing Public Affairs Officer, with the first and third Quarterly Reports, will send National Headquarters Marketing and Public Relations, and the Region PAO, a roster of all unit PAO's within their wing, a listing of names, home address, unit to which assigned, telephone numbers, and e-mail address. 5. The Wing Public Affairs Officer MUST organize and conduct an efficient public affairs program for the Wing. 6. Advises the Wing Commander on all public affairs matters. 7. Encourages the assignment of qualified and effective public affairs officers in each group, squadron and flight within the wing. 8. Conduct Wing Public Affairs Workshops, which should be held at least twice a year and no less than one per year. The PAO Workshop at the wing conference may qualify as one of these so long as the workshop is at least 90 minutes.
